Some of the teams attended a meeting with Paul Falbert of www.challengerSports.com who offers trainers for our club at a bulk rate of about $60 contact hour.  They are doing our camp August 11-15 2008 and have worked with the NPD and other local clubs for many years.  Paul would like teams to fill out a form on your teams preformance levels and goals.  Team Analysis Sheet

We are gathering interest for fall 2008 in our all coaches google group  all-coaches  use your login and view the progress or enter your needs.

I know that the Cobra's use Choch (sp) from Benedictine University and Eddie has a few trainers he uses from the Skulls.  The Typhoons have a good relationship with Chip who has interest in creating more of a Challengers Branded program.  If you want references about local trainers please write: challengerssoccer-allcoaches@googlegroups.com   jim E 6/19/08

-----------------------------
For the Spring 2007 2 girls teams and 1 boys team hired a trainer from Future Pros.  Future Pros is an organization that provides trainers to clubs in the Chicago area.  Alex Blinder trained these teams on Mondays from 4-7 PM on Mondays. A trainer named Trian trained the u11 boys Cyclones and Balck thunder and had good reviews.  Here is a link to the future pros website:

I am well aware that we have more choices than FP. Please also post here if you believe we should use a different organization.

The Pythons would love to have Alex back again. We are looking to have him twice a week for the fall season (ideally Monday and Wednesday). Our practices are running from 5:30 to 7:00. I called FuturePros the other day to set things up but I haven't yet gotten a response to the message I left.

We are already practicing (with the Fire camp and then our qualifying tournament the week after that I had to try and get the boys together this week) so I would really like to get something going soon. I would love to be able to work with Alex before our seeding tournament, but that may not be possible. If not, I guess I would be looking to start the week of August 20.

Harry - thanks for working on the negotiations. I would be happy to be involved with the talks too if that would help, just let me know.

The Jaguars would also like Alex back if possible, otherwise we are willing to try someone new. We are looking for 1 session per week on either Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Our time preference is either 5:00 to 6:30 or 5:30 to 7:00.

      Thanks, Andy

The Cheetahs will be using the same trainer as the spring. Chip Stavaru, (630)400-7606, has trained and coached my older daughters(now U16, U15) so I have had plenty of experience working with him. He will be doing 2 sessions per week for us this fall(he did 1 in the spring). Since we were a new team in the spring we have had him concentrate on technical dribbling & ball handling skills, however he is also a great tactical trainer with older groups. The girls have responded very well. He is available to take on additional teams.

I also have two trainer online to start training our team.
Omid Namdari ("A" licence candidate and played pro in Germany) from the Chicago Fire and Steve Whitehouse (played pro in England and current coach for Judson College) From the Coever Training system.
I have already locked Omid for Fall and trying to compliment with Steve (he also specializes in Goalie Training).
If anyone is interested in an alternative.
      Call me,
      Eddie
PS I am also a trainer if someone needs help.

Sounds like you have some great training options. Great work. I do not have any experience with future pros. Don has been talking with Jon (our Red/White Trainer from the last couple years) Jon and his brother will probably be training the 3 u11 boys teams this fall probably mondays and Fridays

We had a meeting at landiak's office on 6/19 about trainers. Paul Falbert of www.challengerSports.com was there to discuss his trainer recruitment program. Several teams are pretty interested for fall. costs are around $60 contact hour not including travel etc. To get the most use we will probably keep the tainer at one field for the training day. We can get the number of trainers we contract for. there is lots of flexibility and consistency in the program. We will probably post trainers section on the all coaches google groups blog. that way we can keep some of this more private.
