2007 Fall Season - update #1 (role assignments, initial practices)

Alright the Fall soccer season is about to begin. We will be playing in the B league this year, so we moved up with the Jaguars. This should mean the competition should be tougher than last year. I think the girls will learn more in the B league when they are being challenged.

Below is the initial practice schedule and role assignments.

Since no parents came to claim the roles I had identified, I have decided to assign parents to roles:

Team Manager: Ellen Loffredo
Tourney Manager: Mary Conforti
Video: Codo/Mankowski
Photographer: Bumpus
IWSL Manager: Ann Marie Peterson

I will email these families their responsibilities.

Practices will continue to be on Monday and Thursday from 5:30-7:00 PM.  Sometime in late September we will likely need to move the practice time up by an hour to avoid darkness. We have not yet hired a coach - I am looking for a female coach.

I plan to have several scrimmages to get the girls ready for the new 8v8 format and the offside rule.  As soon as I got confirmation on the scrimmages I will let you know.

The first game of the season should be on Sun Sep 9. Annette Dudycha is organizing a pre-season get together. Annette will also be ordering a warmup outfit and new spare shirt for the Fall. These outfits will be paid for out of the current Mustangs account. More details on the outfit/shirt will come from Annette.

The first practice will be on Monday Aug 13. Feel to repost on this blog which practices your daughter can not make. There will be no practice on Labor day.

We will attend the Glen Ellyn tourney on Oct 6/7 (Oct 8 is Columbus Day). Let me know if your daughter will NOT be able to attend this tourney.

      A bit of a mis wording. We are looking for a female trainer for the Monday session. Both Dave and I are planning to be back for the Fall. Though I did hear from Kate Bumpus and Annette Dudycha that they have never lost a game with their NPD team, so both are available to take over if we choke under the pressure.

        Ryan will be at practice on Monday, August 13th, I have the sample warm-up gear for everyone to try out for sizing. I will send a message to Mustang parents regarding the warm-ups/spare shirts by tomorrow night (I am waiting to hear back on pricing from Soccer 2K).

        I have two neighborhood teens playing for Naperville Central, if you would like me to approach them about training on Monday nights. I am not sure of what you are looking for as far as qualifications, but they are both young, talented and enthusiastic, so let me know your thoughts.
